Frustone!

What is frustone, and what does it mean? Quite frankly, I have no idea. Apparently it is an Italian word, whose meaning varies depending on your tone, facial expressions, and probably a bunch of other things. In other words, it’s a genius idea for a t-shirt company.

For example, the shirt below is called “Houston, we have a frustone!”

Houston, we have a frustone!

It isn’t the prettiest store…and I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t find any shipping information without actually putting something in the checkout bag. They also seem to ship from Europe, and charge in Euros, which might make buys a little expensive for those of us from the USA. However, they make their products from bamboo, and try to be environmentally friendly, so if you’re into that, you might want to check these out. They’ve got these bag things too, so if you like that sort of thing, you’ll also want to check it out.

Whatever frustone means, I can you tell one thing: the t-shirts at fruston.com are, without a doubt, definitely frustone.

Celebrate the Stache

Giambi's Stache

Baseball fans and New Yorkers certainly know about the recent buzz concerning Jason Giambi’s new mustache. Now, I have a certain”dislike” (to put it mildly) for the Yankees, and I wouldn’t normally post something like this, but charity is involved, so I’ll let it slide.

Fuzzy Ink has released a new special edition shirt to commemorate the stache. The cool part is, 15% of the sales are supposed to go to charity. Now, I really don’t see what the big deal is about a little hair growing on Mr. Giabmi’s upper lip, but if it brings you some sort of amusement, go for it.

Ningnong T-Shirts Review: Tees for the Pride of Canada

Here are some shirts for those of you call Canada home, or just love the country for some reason or another…or for those of you that just love t-shirts, I suppose. These designs were made to tell stories about Canada, and designs range from hockey to the Gulf Passage, and include things the Stanley Ride and the Tofino Dream (I’m not from Canada, and I have no idea what those things are, but the shirts look sweet). These are really fashionable shirts, not your generic tourist attraction stuff. That was actually one of the reasons these were made, because Wynne and Lauren, the two creators, couldn’t find any Canada t-shirts that natives would be proud to wear.

Tofino

The name of the company, Ningnong, comes from the name of a surf break in the creator’s native country of New Zealand. The creator’s actually have a pretty cool story…you should check it out.

At $40, the t-shirts aren’t cheap, but they do look pretty high quality. Some shirts also come in a super soft version, for $5 more. Mmm…super soft.

Retro Campaigns Review: Old School Presidential Campaign Shirts

Retro Campaigns Screenshot

Here are some pretty unique shirts that you won’t find all over the internet already. And with the current presidential campaigns going on, I think this is pretty appropriate. The company is called Retro Campaigns, and they sell what they refer to as “Classical Political T’s.” I’m not old enough to know if these shirts are similar to original designs from the 60s and 70s (I would think they are), or if they’re originals, but they look pretty cool nonetheless. All of them refer to certain presidential candidates from the past, from guys like Jimmy Carter and Ted and Robert Kennedy, to the likes of Barry Goldwater and LBJ. If you’re a history buff, or maybe old enough to have some fond memories from the elections 40 years ago, then I’m sure that you’ll like these tees.

The site design is pretty sweet looking, too, so you should check it out. They went all out with the presidential theme. Retro Campaigns has some quotes by each candidate, and some short bio information, so if you don’t know a lot the candidates, you can find out a little bit about them before you buy. The t-shirts I checked out were about $20 each.

New Feature: Submit your reviews!

I’m pretty excited about this new feature I added today. I’m sure you’ve been to sites like amazon.com and newegg.com that let you submit reviews for products that you’ve purchased. Well, I’m releasing a feature that is very similar to that. You can now submit your comments about t-shirt companies that  you’ve purchased products from in the past. Just click on the review submission link at the top of the site, fill out the forms, and get your comments seen on my review page for that company. I hope that this will be a good place to consolidate reviews so that we can help out anybody who’s looking for a good company to purchase a t-shirt from. I want to hear about both good and bad experiences, which companies you would recommend, and which ones fail to deliver on their promises.

Right now you can only submit reviews for the companies on the review page, but if this proves to be popular, I’ll put up more sites that you can review.
